Earlier this month, tabloid Poptopic speculated that Johnny Depp would have received a proposal from Disney to reprise his famous role as captain Jack Sparrow in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise.
In the face of the rumors, a rep for the actor denied the news and told NBC News that the rumor surrounding the $301 million, or $1.5 billion, deal “was made up,” according to CNN.
The entertainment industry source reportedly told the site that Disney already had the initial script for an upcoming ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ production, which would have depp as the protagonist again.
“Disney is very interested in repairing its relationship with depp. They got in touch with the actor ahead of his defamation lawsuit against Amber Heard and asked him if he would be interested in returning for one or more of the Pirates movies,” the interviewee reportedly said.
He continued, “I know the company sent you a gift basket with a very heartfelt letter, I just don’t know how it was received. But what I can say is that the studio has already written a draft for a movie about Jack Sparrow – so they very much hope that Johnny forgive them and return as an iconic character.
What did the producer say?
The feature film producer, Jerry Bruckheimerhad already mentioned the possibility of returning Johnny frankness at the Times. “Not at the moment,” he said. “The future is not decided yet.”
” We are talking about Margot Robbie. We are developing two Pirates scripts – one with it, one without. Unfortunately, it is not planned to depp star in the sixth Pirates movie so far.
