Actress Guta Stresser is 49 and was recently diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. in conversation with the Fantasticthe interpreter of the character Bebel in ‘A Grande Família’ spoke about the treatment.

THE the disease manifests in adulthood and Guta Streeser’s disease is called relapsing-remitting disease.. And neurologist Claudia Vasconcellos, of the Gaffrée e Guinle University Hospital, in Rio, explains the case:
“It’s when the patient has neurological manifestations, sometimes it improves spontaneously. Sometimes he is in medical care, he already sees that he is inflamed, he gives steroids… The patient is better. In a moment, if he does not do specific treatment to prevent these flare-ups, he will have another flare-up”, he summarizes.
Treatment of this form of multiple sclerosis generally has more effect than for the progressive type.
“And he has the progressive form, which usually occurs in slightly older patients. And the patient starts to get worse. You have decreased leg strength. A problem with balance, which gets progressively worse,” explains the doctor.
Multiple sclerosis is incurable, but it can be treated.
“In Brazil, the SUS provides eight drugs for treatment,” informs the doctor.
AND it was at the SUS that Guta took his medicine.
“These are rare, hard to find and expensive drugs. It’s super important that people know that just because I’m a Guta Stresser doesn’t mean I got the medicine from SUS, which is very expensive. No!” explains the actress.
